The William G. and Marie Selby Foundation has awarded $125,000 to the State College of Florida Foundation to equip the Library and Learning Center’s Knowledge Commons at SCF Bradenton with the latest technology to help students faculty and the community access vital educational and training tools.

The Library & Learning Center and its Knowledge Commons in particular are expected to serve as a catalyst to support strategic partnerships between the College and local economic partners, allowing the community to expand and diversify the local economy. It also will offer students a competitive edge when applying for internships, jobs or transferring to universities.

Access to the technology at SCF will help the community create a pipeline of talent, enabling businesses to grow; help create new start-ups and allow them to flourish; and support our local economy. Employers have said that education and job training are needed to help the area’s population advance skills and have access to high-skill, high-wage jobs.
