The State College of Florida Foundation is hosting a glamourous evening under the spring sky, featuring the SCF Jazz Band, Venice Symphony and fireworks. Evening Under the Stars is set to begin at 6 p.m. April 1 at the Venice campus of State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF), 8000 S. Tamiami Trail.

SCF Venice is the perfect campus to enjoy Florida’s environment while dining and listening to music. The night’s theme, “Diamonds are Forever,” promises the kind of glamour and intrigue familiar to a British spy. It also ties into SCF’s 60th Anniversary, with each guest receiving a festive treat to mark the occasion.

Bring your friends, coolers and chairs, then sit back and relax while taking in the SCF music students’ performance as you enjoy your picnic. SCF’s Jazz Band will perform at 7:45 p.m. and will be followed by the Venice Symphony. The evening will be capped off with fireworks.

Additional highlights of the evening include a drawing for a diamond pendant, a citrine and diamond ring, and a $1,000 gift certificate for a Clyde Butcher photo. Proceeds will provide scholarships for SCF students. A grilling station with light fare, beverages and memorabilia also will be available for purchase.

VIP tickets for the event can be purchased through the Foundation offices and a number of venues throughout Venice including, Stonegate Bank, 500 U.S. 41 Bypass N.; Synovus Bank, 100 Center Road.; Putting on the Ritz Salon, 205 Nokomis Ave. S.; and Premier Sotheby’s International Realty, 400 Barcelona. In Englewood, tickets are available at Key Agency, 1201 S. McCall Road.; Mack Law Firm, 2022 Placida Road.; Stonegate Bank, 1450 Placida Road.
