(Bradenton, Fla., Oct. 17, 2019) — The Cordelia Lee Beattie Foundation, of which Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. is a Trustee, has awarded the State College of Florida Foundation (SCFF) a $10,000 grant to be used for music scholarships at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF). The grant covers 10 scholarships of $1,000 each for students who are residents of Sarasota County and who pursue an education in music at SCF.
SCF offers the only open-door access higher education music program in the region. Making high-quality music instruction accessible and affordable keeps and develops musical talent in the area. The program also plays an important role in recruiting local first-generation, economically-challenged and geographically limited students to SCF.
The purpose of the Cordelia Lee Beattie Foundation is to provide scholarships for deserving, gifted and needy individuals so they may attend colleges, schools, universities or other educational institutions in the state of Florida.
