State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) alumni from the theatre department will help celebrate the College’s 60th anniversary with a series of original one-act plays at 8 p.m. June 23 and 24, and 2 p.m. June 25 at the David S. & Anne V. Howard Studio Theatre, 5840 26th St. W.
“Welcome Home,” a dozen short original comedies, will feature performances by theatre alumni from Manatee Junior College (MJC), Manatee Community College (MCC) and SCF. The productions were written by Kenneth Erickson, Phil Hall, Jalex Scott and James Thaggard.

The cast includes MJC alumni Candace Artim, Pamela Hopkins and Walter Price; MCC alumni Jennifer Caldwell, Erin Erickson-Saladino, Page Larson, Janette Perry, Eric Schneider and Jason Wilson; and SCF alumni Sally Fint, Janet Raines and Scott. Other performers include SCF student Nick Catanzaro and SCF staff members Timothy Bourn, Thaggard and Carolyn Zaput.

Tickets are $10 and go on sale Friday at SCF’s Neel Performing Arts Center box office. Summer hours are 9 a.m. to noon Monday-Wednesday and Friday; closed Thursday. SCF launched its year-long 60th anniversary celebration last September. It will culminate Sept. 17, the date in 1957 that the Florida Legislature established Manatee Junior College.
