SCF Club to Host Easter Egg Hunt Benefiting Southeastern Guide Dogs
(Bradenton, Fla., April 16, 2019) — The Nerd Culture Club at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will host a free Easter egg hunt for children 3-12 years old 11 a.m. Sat., Apr. 20, 2019 next to the baseball field at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W. The club is accepting donations to benefit Southeastern Guide Dogs.
The egg hunt will be Pokemon-themed. Eggs will be decorated like Pokemon with figurines and, of course, candy inside most eggs.
Families with children participating in the hunt will also receive free admission to SCF’s baseball game at 1 p.m. when the SCF Manatees host the South Florida State College Panthers at Robert C. Wynn Field.

SCF Alumnus and Aviation Professional Shares Career Success Story
(Bradenton, Fla., Apr. 11, 2019) — The American Chemical Society student affiliate club at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) continues its alumni speaker series at 7 p.m. Apr. 25 in Building 29, Room 106, SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W., as Patrick Hanson shares his path to becoming a materials and processes engineer for Piper aircraft. The event is free and open to the public with no reservation required.
Hanson grew up in Bradenton, where his passion for aviation manifested at a young age. He graduated from SCF in 2012 and earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering at University of South Florida in 2017. Through networking, luck, and determination, he found work as an aviation professional. In his spare time, Hanson enjoys camping and hiking, playing video games and participating as a science-fair judge in his local community.
